Information for Finesta employees
-
Your go-to contacts are Finesta’s office support department. You can reach them by email at support@finestaworks.com.
-
Finesta is one of the largest recruitment agencies in the Baltic States, founded in 2008. With offices in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland.
We connect companies with the right talent and handle all employment-related paperwork—contracts, salaries, holidays, and more.
For job seekers, we offer a wide range of opportunities, from flexible part-time jobs to long-term roles for specialists and managers. We work across various industries and countries to match each person with the most suitable position.
-
Unlike a traditional employment setup with two parties—employer and employee—agency work involves three. As a rental worker, your employment contract is with Finesta, but your daily work is carried out at another company with its own manager and team.
Finesta handles all employment-related paperwork, including signing your contract, paying your salary, and taxes. For matters like schedules, instructions, and working conditions, please contact your direct manager at your assigned workplace.
Working hours and pay
-
- Night work (between 22:00 and 06:00) is paid at 1.25× the normal rate, unless your contract says otherwise.
- Public holiday work is paid at 2× the normal rate.
- Overtime is paid at 1.5× the normal rate.
-
Finesta’s official payday is no later than the 10th of each month. If the 10th lands on a weekend or public holiday, your salary will be paid on the preceding working day.
Example: If the 10th is a Sunday, you’ll be paid on the 8th instead. -
Finesta calculates salaries based on the number of working hours and the additional information provided by the client company. As a result, payroll discrepancies may occasionally occur due to input from different parties. If you have noticed an inconsistency, please contact your Finesta representative. They will identify the issue and explain what steps need to be taken next. You can reach us by email at support@finestaworks.com
Termination of employment contract
-
According to Estonian law:
- If you've worked less than 4 months, the notice period is 15 calendar days.
- If you've worked more than 4 months, the notice period is 30 calendar days.
Please make sure to submit written notice to both Finesta and the company where you're currently working. You are requested to complete a resignation form, agree on your last working day with your direct manager at your company, and then send the resignation form to Finesta by email at support@finestaworks.com
-
You must return all tools previously received at the workplace by the last working day at the latest.
-
Yes, Finesta may end your contract immediately if there are serious breaches of your employment duties. These include:
- Failing to show up for work without a valid reason
- Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at work—even once
- Other serious violations as defined by law
Always follow your workplace guidelines to avoid unexpected termination.
Notifications of changes and accidents

Holidays
-
Plan ahead! You must submit your holiday application to Finesta at least two weeks before your intended start date. Your request must be signed by your direct manager.
If your manager is unavailable or unable to sign the form, contact Finesta Support—we’ll send you our version. Once completed and approved, send it back to us.
-
Under Estonian law, employees are entitled to 28 calendar days of annual leave.
- You can first take holiday after 6 months of employment, up to 14 calendar days.
- Leave should be taken in full-week blocks.
-
If your holiday request is submitted on time, you have two options for receiving your holiday pay:
- it will be paid before your holiday begins, or
- it will be paid together with your next salary.
Please indicate your choice in the holiday request form.
Holiday pay is usually processed and transferred on Thursdays.
-
Under Estonian law, students and trainees can request study leave from their employer.
To apply:- Submit your request to your Finesta representative and user company.
- Include a certificate from your educational institution
Study leave allows for up to 30 calendar days per year:
- 20 days are paid at your average salary
- 10 days are available as unpaid leave
-
Yes, you can apply for child leave. Due to updates in the system as of April 1, 2022, the process is as follows:
- Submit your child leave request to your employer, along with a confirmation from your direct manager at the company where you work—just like you would for annual leave.
- Once approved, apply for the leave through the Social Security Office’s self-service portal.
Note: Starting April 1, child leave payments are handled by the Social Security Office, not by your employer.
-
You can learn more about your holiday pay once it’s been processed and received. For specific questions or details, please contact Finesta Support via email at support@finestaworks.com.
Illnesses
-
If you're ill, please follow these steps:
- Inform your line manager at the company where you're currently working.
- Notify Finesta Support immediately via email at support@finestaworks.com.
- Contact your family doctor to document the illness and issue a sick note.
- When your sick leave ends, notify Finesta and your workplace in writing.
Note: Since 01.01.2015, doctors no longer issue paper sick leave certificates. Instead, your data is sent electronically to the Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) based on the details you provide.
-
Timing of your illness during the month doesn't affect payment. What matters is when Finesta receives your sickness certificate. Once it's received, your sickness benefit is typically paid at the end of the current calendar month.
As a general rule, benefits are paid no later than 30 days after the certificate is submitted. -
Under Estonian law:
- The first 3 days of sick leave are unpaid.
- From day 4 to day 8, Finesta pays 70% of your average daily wage—calculated from your salary over the past 6 months, divided by calendar days.
- From day 9 onwards, payment is handled by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa).
-
Finesta will provide details about your sickness benefit after the payment has been transferred, typically on the last working day of the month. This ensures accuracy and transparency once the transaction is complete.
-

- Email Finesta Support at support@finestaworks.com.
- Treatment-related absence is reimbursed from the first day, with compensation at 80% of your average daily wage, paid by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa).

Motivation and development
-
In general, agency workers receive motivation and recognition similar to in-house employees. Each company partnered with Finesta has its own way of rewarding great performance—this could include bonuses, gifts, events, or other perks.
To learn the specifics of your motivation package, contact Finesta Support at support@finestaworks.com.
-
Development opportunities—such as training, skill-building, and professional growth—are typically decided by the company where you currently work. Whether you're on a fixed-term or an open-ended contract.
